Spring Break. And then some.

Spring break {noun}: A week long recess from the confines of rigid college life, necessary for the completion of the semester and the sanity of the student.

Sanity maintained. I had a lovely spring break. Quite a bit of my time was spent in South Jordan with my family... being home alone doesn't suit me well. I crave human interaction. An entire day was devoted to shopping for Sierra's mission. I don't believe any one will argue with me when I say she will be one of the most STUNNING sister missionaries ever. She leaves so soon. I'm going to miss the late night calls, inside jokes, piano and viola duets... and of course, I'll miss the pictures she sends me from her anatomy lab. I got a snapshot of a brain last week. That's what real sisters do, bond over pictures of human organs. It's completely normal, right? Maybe a year and a half apart will be good for us...

The past few weeks, Clark and I have developed an addiction, along with our good friend's Chase and Ali. Our Sunday game nights have turned into every-possible-night-we-have-free-game-nights dedicated to "Ticket To Ride". Uno and Sorry have begun to gather dust, and I don't believe they will see the sun again for quite some time.

Here are some photo highlights from the past 2 weeks:

Typical Clark-Hayley date night... After a failed attempt to feed ducks (their hunger having been satisfied by a few too many BYU students before us), we grabbed a blanket and had a picnic dinner at a local park. After a short brainstorming session about our next fun activity, we raced to Hobby Lobby and bought water colors. It provided for quite a bit of entertainment and, in true elementary school form, our works of art are still proudly and prominently displayed on our fridge.

Over spring break, I made a pit stop at one of my least favorite locals. TOSH. AKA, where I lived for two years after I tore my ACL. After some recurrent knee problems that kept escalating, I finally caved and met with my surgeon. 3 x-rays and 1 consultation later, I have officially stumped the professionals. Dr. West decided to administer a rather large steroid shot to see if it would help. A few days later, I went on my first outside run. Not too bad for my first time back. Hopefully my knee stays on the up and up, or else Dr. West mentioned that there may be a third knee surgery in the not so distant future.

UVU Special Olympics had an Orientation meeting for our coaches, as well as our athletes and our parents. I'm getting very anxious and excited to take over this amazing program next year. But for now, I am content to sit back and let Andrew be in charge while I play with his daughter Emma. I am a little obsessed with his little girl. Luckily, his wife is more than happy to let me steal her away!

I am still having a grand time orienting the freshman at UVU. They make me feel wise and knowledgeable. I'd also like to point out that my superman jump in the second picture is INCREDIBLE. And Kyle next to me got some serious air. And Jordan on the other end... yeah, he's pretty cool too. So... We're a pretty good team.

And on a final note.
That's my hair. On the floor. Those are also my new boots that I love. Back on the subject of my hair, I cut off four inches and I'm still in shock. In a good way. But still shocked. Because I have bangs, which I haven't had since... well, I can't remember so it's been awhile. But I'm getting used to it. And I really actually like it.

Only four more weeks of school and then a few finals and then FREEDOM.
I don't know if I'll know how to function without 80 million things to do... in all seriousness, it's going to be a HUGE adjustment for me.
I'm not sure I remember how to relax.
Maybe I'll actually blog more?

Maybe.
