Our share of Mornings

As of April 24th 2013 at 11:32 a.m... I am officially done with my onslaught of finals. I survived. Barely. Between 11 p.m. bedtimes and 3 a.m. study sessions, I am wiped out. It goes without saying that I am ready to usher in an era of peace and relaxation. Because of the craziness that was April, I had to let the blog take a back seat while I focused on school and all the extracurriculars that came along with that. Warning. Here comes the marathon post.

April 4th was Wolverine Achievement Awards, where Student Government recognizes exceptional students, teachers, departments and advisors {all nominated by students}. Basically... free lunch in exchange for numb hands due to the ridiculous amount of clapping. Yay Wolverines.

I suppose by now I should be use to the insanity that fills my days. Three weeks left in the semester, and I feel my work load growing exponentially... one assignment completed, only to have two more magically appear. My blog will receive MUCH more attention come the end of April.

Firstly, I forgot to include these two gems from last week:

Spring break {noun}: A week long recess from the confines of rigid college life, necessary for the completion of the semester and the sanity of the student.

Sanity maintained. I had a lovely spring break. Quite a bit of my time was spent in South Jordan with my family... being home alone doesn't suit me well. I crave human interaction. An entire day was devoted to shopping for Sierra's mission. I don't believe any one will argue with me when I say she will be one of the most STUNNING sister missionaries ever. She leaves so soon. I'm going to miss the late night calls, inside jokes, piano and viola duets... and of course, I'll miss the pictures she sends me from her anatomy lab. I got a snapshot of a brain last week. That's what real sisters do, bond over pictures of human organs. It's completely normal, right? Maybe a year and a half apart will be good for us...

The past few weeks, Clark and I have developed an addiction, along with our good friend's Chase and Ali. Our Sunday game nights have turned into every-possible-night-we-have-free-game-nights dedicated to "Ticket To Ride". Uno and Sorry have begun to gather dust, and I don't believe they will see the sun again for quite some time.

Today.
I am grateful.

I am grateful that Clark and I have amazing friends, Chase and Ali Wilde.
I am grateful that we do practically everything together.
I am grateful for Sammy's oreo shakes after stressful school days.
I am grateful for the people who left their phone numbers written on the wall that provided an evening of fun prank-texting during our double date.

I am grateful that my Thursday morning class was cancelled.
I am grateful that I got to sleep in until 7:30, and didn't have to be to school until noon.
I am grateful for Cori Fox, who is the best lunch date a girl could ask for.

I am grateful that student body elections are over.
I am grateful that council members who won didn't gloat.
I am grateful that council members who lost weren't too upset.
I am grateful that there aren't many student council meetings left in the year, because today's was AWKWARD.
I am grateful for an awesome Vice President, Clara LeFevre, who I can just sit and talk with about anything.

I am even grateful for how busy I am all of the time.
I am grateful that Clark puts up with me... what I decide to do, he is automatically roped into.

Which brings me to the thing I feel the most gratitude for today.

I am grateful for my newest opportunity.


I am grateful to have been appointed to be President of the UVU Special Olympics Club/Team for the 2013-2014 school year.
I am grateful that I get to spend time with the people who bring me so much joy.
I am grateful that I get to spend the summer and my final year at UVU coaching and interacting with some of God's most precious children.
I am grateful that I get to support these athletes and make new best friends.

Yeah, my life just got a little busier...
But somehow, it doesn't feel that way.

I am blessed.

Remember how I used to be good at blogging? Good times.
Life happens.
By life I mean... I don't have one.
I am probably going to be the first person to die of over-commitment.

So here are the highlights of the past month!

Last week, I hosted a Ladies Night event with President and Paige Holland.
Little bit of background... I teamed up with the Women's Success Center and about 4 other campus organizations to put this event on. I'm not going to say much about it but... bad decision. Let's just say a certain organization has made my life a living hell nightmare the past month and a half. Because of all the insane stress, I had multiple panic attacks and developed lactose intolerance (which has magically disappeared after all the stress left) and ocular migraines (which have also disappeared). So while the event was great and we did good things... the event being over is probably the best thing that has happened to me this year.  Here are some lovely instagrams from that evening:
