I'd like to dedicate this post to the great Nat King Cole, whose song has been stuck in my head. On repeat. ALL. DAY. LONG. If you wish to join me in this madness, just click on the lovely link right here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hv4gYHlqTds
I know that technically it's not summer until June 21st. But my "summer criteria" has already been met.
1. I'm not in school.
2. I've been sunburned.
3. I can walk around barefoot 90% of the time.
4. I've been on vacation.
So to everyone who's told me "well it's technically not summer until the summer solstice...". That list sure sounds like summer to me... HAPPY SUMMER.
The past two weeks have been complete bliss. Except for this part...
He struggles.
1. He doesn't have a golf callous anymore.
2. He's not 10 years old anymore. Playgrounds are just a bit too small for him now...
My weekends look like this...
UVU Special Olympics.
Loves of my LIFE.
And my grades look like this...
I might have cried.
Clark and I started off our summer adventures with a trip to Provo Beach Resort. We had a BYU/UVU activity during the semester and, essentially, no one came. So, we ended up with a TON of pre-paid arcade cards. Approximately 150 dollars worth of arcade games. After all was said and done, we had 3306 tickets. And we cashed them all in for tootsie rolls and fruities... at 5 tickets a piece. Do the math. That's WAY more sugar than any human needs.
Clark holding the loot.
In case anyone was wondering what 660 pieces of candy looks like.
Here you go.
On Thursday, May 2nd, Clark took me to Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point. And he didn't complain once! I think he actually enjoyed it :) he is really the best husband ever!
Waterfalls! Should have done my bridals in the back gardens...
Noted for future generations.
We came across a Koi Pond and I just HAD to feed them.
Heavenly Father loves me because there just happened to be 2 quarters in my purse.
Clarky feeding the fishies.
I need a Koi pond in my yard...
The Secret Garden.
Just me. Being happy.
They smelled SO good.
We left the next day for Southern Utah! First vacation of summer!!!
This lil' sister of mine got her Associates from SUU.
Yay Sierra!
We went to Brigham Young's house in St. George.
And I fell in love with this old piano.
I love him. SO much love for him.
Sierra introduced us to "Mongolian Grill" and it was delightful.
The whole fam got Brian Regan tickets for Christmas and we finally got to go!
Loved Brian. Loved Tuacahn. Love Clark.
On the way home we stopped in Scipio, and the Flying J gas station has a petting zoo attached...
I got to play with a ZEBRA. I have an obsession with animals.
He thinks he's a donkey. Pretty sure.
Also, I need a baby goat now too.
Along with a koi pond and a zebra.
And a monkey.
I think he liked my necklace more than he liked me...
But I'm ok with that.
Things continue to go splendidly for me and Clark. Clark recently accepted an internship at Property Solutions in Lehi, where he is a Jr. PHP Engineer. He loves it there, and has come home the past few days just beaming and ready to share all sorts of stories. He got a new laptop as part of his internship, and anyone who knows Clark knows that nothing makes him happier than new technology. One of the offices at Property Solutions has a pool table, and apparently there is an entire room with free food for the employees. Computers + Playing Games + Free Food = One happy husband.
This summer, I am working at UVU in the Intramurals office and as an Orientation leader. I'll also be working as an intern with the American Cancer Society with one of my professors, which I am REALLY excited about! I am truly blessed... So many of my friends are struggling to find scholarships. My scholarship for next year was basically handed to me. My friends are struggling to find internships for our major... My internship was handed to me by my professor, and she's been keeping in touch with me for almost a year encouraging me to work with her. And to top it off, my friends are struggling to find jobs in the Public Health field... and well, I might have just had that handed to me too. Long story short, the Dean of Students at UVU loves me. He found out my major and said that once I graduate, I have a full-time position waiting for me at the new Health and Wellness Center on campus, which will be opened in March of 2014. I still have a year, so nothing is 100% set in stone... but I love UVU and Campus Wellness would be PERFECT for me. I called my mom giggling like a little girl. My life is too perfect... I wonder how long that will last?
